Rising damp comes from the ground up. Watch for a tide-like line low on the wall, flaking plaster, and a salty white residue.

Penetrating damp comes from outside in. It shows as patches after rain, usually higher up - near roofs, gutters, or cracked walls.

The signs are subtle, but the diagnosis decides everything. That’s why we assess properly before we quote.
