Founded by Neil Britz and Ron Adams in 1999, Crown Technologies rapidly grew to be a leading installer of high quality HVAC, Evaporative cooling, and airconditioning systems. With a growing need for sustainable power and renewable energy systems to ensure residential and business customers buildings remained powered up through loadshedding whilst reducing their cost of energy supply, the team focussed their installation expertise on installing and maintaining solar energy generation and battery backup systems in 2017. Crown Technologies focusses on optimising home and business energy efficiency through state of the art solar energy generation and battery backup systems with evaporative cooling systems and energy management devices. We source and manufacture the latest technology in Solar and evaporative cooling systems for our clients to ensure many happy years of optimised building climate and energy efficiency! We are proud installers of the Seeley coolbreeze, breezair and climate wizard range of evaporative cooling systems, and Fox ESS and other leading brand power generation systems. Our in house engineering, design and manufacturing department produces the incredible Cirrus evaporative cooling range and regularly modifies systems and units to clients unique specifications.

Glass on glass bifacial solar panels!!
The reason we recommend bifacials is for safety and durability with the glass covering the front and back of the panel.
If the Vodacom building in Cape town had glass on glass bifacials in 2023, it would not have caught on fire.

At this point, we as a company decided to supply and install only glass on glass panels for safety.

Moreover, in the African sun, the laminate over time bubbles and short circuits onto the frame of the panel (not good)
This is called electrolysis which degrades the entire panel and with that, it degrades your production!
When rainwater get in through the bubbles it also erodes your glass on laminate panels causing delamination as early as 5 – 7 years after installation.
This can also cause hot spots which can also cause fires. See attached photos.
