Peter her husband joined a few years later. The aim was to supply retail nurseries with good quality shrubs and perennials. Colour cheers our lives, and being an innovative team, they noticed that there was a lack of quick colour for gardens and the instant colour concept was born. Peebles began producing instant colour in many different forms. First there was the colour bag, followed closely by t
he 6-pack. Later came the 9-pack and then bulk trays of ‘48’, ‘104’ and ‘200’ plants. Peebles started and remains a family business ably assisted by a great team of people who share a passion for growing. Training and product knowledge are the key elements that have lead to the growth of the company. Di and Cary look after the educational aspects of the business. Pauline and Ryan look after sales and production is monitored by Martin, Casper and a large group of team members. Ryan and Marlene look after the finances and Ester and her team are the creative minds behind the marketing and advertising initiatives. Pauline and Hellen answer the phones and handle the orders. The delivery team is headed up by Oupa who is assisted by three other drivers. Peebles has always been a member of SANA. Di has been involved with this organization since 1985 and has served on many committees. She always looks at the big picture and gives of her time to develop and grow the Green Industry. Peebles today consists of two growing farms, a seedling and instant colour operation on seven hectares in Inadan, Randburg and a 17-hectare shrub and groundcover farm in Broederstroom. The customer base ranges from Gauteng to North West and Mpumalanga. Each member of the team strives to offer good quality plants and service at a reasonable price.
