This weekend we were privileged to help out with the ongoing revamp and restoration at the Blairgowrie Pool and Community Centre.

Spearheaded by the Blairgowrie Community Association, in partnership with the City of Joburg, we as a community are repairing and restoring the facility so it is ready to reopen by 1 September.

The first fundraising event to support the project is happening on 12 April, and we can't have an event without a braai, right? Dial 'n Boer stepped in and offered our expertise, labour and supplies to repair and restore them. Don't they look fantastic?

Dial ‘n Boer recently repurposed an old privacy fence and swing at a client's house, and transformed the materials into a raised bed planter for veggies. The client is going to use hügelkultur to grow herbs and veggies in the new bed.

Hügelkultur is a centuries-old gardening method where logs, branches, and organic matter are layered inside the bed. As they break down, they improve soil fertility, retain moisture, and reduce the need for watering—a perfect low-maintenance, eco-friendly solution!

Can’t wait to see this bed thriving with herbs and veggies!

Mr DialnBoer has been very, very busy lately doing everything from restoring antique beds to helping a new client renovate a servants quarters and install shelving *everywhere* in his house.

He did find time to make a plan at home though. We have a heat wave, a 3 day water outage thanks to maintenance at Eikenhof, and new beds planted which need cover.

So he made a plan, because that's what he does. Yes, that's my umbrella. No, I don't want to talk about it. It is a pretty nifty solve though.

When not running around, we do upgrades to our workshop...
