Throwback to one of my architectural concepts.
A luxury hotel and waterfront upgrade proposal for Gordon's Bay, designed a few years ago. It's always rewarding to revisit projects that challenged creativity and pushed design boundaries.

Architecture is where imagination meets possibility.

An existing farm cottage reimagined to feel both grounded and refined. The natural stone base, crisp white walls, and bold pitched roof create a warm country character, while the modern detailing introduces a fresh contemporary edge. Inside, exposed timber trusses and soft natural light transform the upper loft into a peaceful retreat filled with warmth and texture. Every space was carefully designed to celebrate comfort, simplicity, and the beauty of countryside living. ✨🏡

House Buchler - Hoedspruit
A home designed to disappear into the landscape while still making a statement.
Natural stone, steel, and glass come together to create a modern sanctuary where architecture and nature exist in perfect balance. From the floating terraces to the infinity-edge pool overlooking the bushveld, every space was designed to feel both luxurious and grounded.

This is more than a house — it’s an experience of light, texture, and timeless living.

Designed to feel both grounded and weightless, these luxury units were inspired by the quiet beauty of natural landscapes and modern minimalism.
Natural stone, warm timber cladding, expansive glass panels, and soft earthy tones were carefully combined to create a space that feels calm, timeless, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

The split-pavilion design allows each unit to have privacy while still embracing open living, light, and uninterrupted views. Every line, texture, and material was chosen to blur the boundary between architecture and nature — creating homes that feel like a retreat, not just a residence.

A project where simplicity became luxury. ✨🏡

Enke Haus, Windhoek

The history of this house goes back to 1900 when a transport rider, Ernst Vorpahl, bought the land for 100 marks. He had already been using land in the area for several years as an outspan for his oxen so when the area was divided into plots he was given first option. He completed the house in 1903 and it was so widely admired in the new town that Vorpahl became a building contractor.
The house was to set a trend in Windhoek and the corbelled effect on the columns and gable was imitated on many subsequent buildings.
In the 1920s Enke Haus was used as a hotel and later it housed the editorial offices of Die Suidwester.
