Cottages can provide a cosy, manageable dwelling option (as you get older) on your 1980sqm sized stand (with a beautiful 3 storey-main house and 'a cottage'). The bigger houses can become quite daunting and downsizing to your cottage, on your very same property could work out very well.

We did a house a few years back for a good Client of ours and as they approach retirement they just came back for a cottage (a smaller house); specially designed for their uptake as they plan to let out the main house.

DesignCiti : Here we present a mini cluster residential development composed of 4 typical units. The porches leading into each unit emerge as the star of the show - with a timber vaulted ceiling above, following the roof pitch angle for angle. Two self-supporting beams complete that front look. One member of the beams swallowed halfway into a feature stone-clad wall and on the opposite extreme, the other beam flowing vertically into a like-painted concrete column.

The important details: Each unit to have 2 bedrooms, separate bath & w/c, an open-plan dining-lounge-kitchen arrangement and kitchen yard
