Old Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court: A Heritage Revival Project
We are excited to share our latest project at the historic Old Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court, a significant landmark built in 1887. The cornerstone of this iconic building was laid by Paul Kruger on 18 September 1890. At the back of the court, you'll find holding jails, one of which displays fascinating articles and items from the Second Anglo-Boer War.
Declared a museum on 10 January 1995, this heritage building required a ceiling installation that matched its historic grandeur. We were commissioned to install a ceiling similar to the previous one, and our solution was Insuboard's XPS ceiling boards. These boards offer a 2-in-1 benefit: an aesthetically pleasing finish combined with excellent insulation properties.
In addition to the ceiling, we also installed cornices and light boxes. In total, we installed 640 square meters of 30mm thick Insuboard and 890 meters of cornices from Insuboard.
This project not only enhances the beauty of the Old Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court but also preserves its historic charm for future generations.
