A client in Salisbury Park requested assistance after a group of individuals carrying out soil-related work demanded payment. The client advised that the original price quoted was substantially lower, but the amount being demanded later increased significantly.
When the client refused to pay the higher amount, the individuals became intimidating.
Our response officer arrived at the scene and instructed the individuals to stop and leave the client alone.
The individuals immediately got into their vehicle and fled the area.
Our response officer confirmed the vehicle as a white, older-model Ford bakkie.
Our first response vehicle followed the bakkie towards Buffelsfontein Road, where it was confirmed that the vehicle had turned towards another area.
Our second response vehicle then picked up the vehicle's movements and reported that it was travelling up Circular Drive.
Our third response vehicle joined the pursuit and confirmed the vehicle was continuing along Circular Drive towards the Walker Drive/Baywest area.
As the situation developed, assistance was requested through social media groups where SAPS and other security companies are also a part of.
Multiple security role players responded and together with our response located and stopping the vehicle near Walker Drive, in the Baywest area.
The situation then became confrontational.
One suspect allegedly attempted to stab a security response officer from another company, while the occupants also allegedly attempted to drive into/over our responding officers.
Two suspects were apprehended.
SAPS was informed and the suspects were taken to the police station for profiling and further investigation.
The client was also proceeding with opening a case regarding the original incident.
A big acknowledgement to all the role players who assisted in bringing the incident to a safe conclusion.
