A trip out to Keurbooms to see Cathedral Rock is never wasted, allowing you to wonder at the natural arch that architecture has been paying homage to for centuries. Arches represent the perfect balance of stabilising force and gravity-defying extension, with this one resembling the door of a cathedral with stained glass behind. It is a 30-minute hike at low tide, with this footage capturing Cathedral Rock before the storms from earlier this year carried away most of the sand.

B3NA DRONE ADVENTURES | MARIAZELL

This church is a hidden beauty found unsuspectingly in the northern regions of the Eastern Cape near the border to Lesotho. Along the Drakensberg, you'll find the architectural wonder with a rich history dating back to 1916 as the last of the buildings constructed at Mariazell Mission. The church took a total of 7 years to build, facing restrictions during the years of war, before completion and blessing from Bishop Flesicher on 2 May 1923.

Do you know about Mariazell? En route to Lesotho, we had to make a detour to visit and wonder at Mariazell against the expansive backdrop of the Drakensberg.

Introducing House Ladium, a sophisticated Georgian-style design cultivated for a visually stimulating yet soothing experience. With exterior features that contrast sharply and feature geometric shapes, and warm interior tones, House Ladium is a forever home that you couldn't get tired of.

I had so much fun with this project, exploring the sheer size of this not-so-humble abode and pushing the limits of 3D modelling and renders. Working with fellow architects, this project showed how going digital improved visualisation, decision-making and design optimisation, ultimately resulting in a very satisfied client.
