Perhaps better known for the innovative design of the Bosky Dell Farm & Rose Garden (awarded the WFRS Garden of Excellence in 2015), Rae Gilbert, leader of the landscaping team, has designed and installed gardens in various genres spanning a period of 25 years. The gardens have ranged from ultra-contemporary, minimalist designs in extreme coastal conditions to cottage gardens with mixed borders and meadow plantings. Sites have included new builds in Thesen Islands, Pezula, Solar Beach, Plett, Turtle Creek, Strandmeer and Keurbooms. She has also done numerous makeovers of existing gardens.

Rae's gardens are never cookie-cutter, though she prefers using indigenous and/or ecologically sound plantings and hard landscaping materials. She has done extensive research into local growing conditions and plant health, resulting in gardens that continue delivering season after season.
