AET Security responded to a shooting incident in the Hoosen Haffejee Street area of Pietermaritzburg.

Preliminary information indicates that one male sustained suspected fatal gunshot wounds.

SAPS attended the scene, with AET Armed Response remaining on site to assist with securing and containing the area and supporting SAPS while the incident was being attended to.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain subject to SAPS investigation.

SHOOTING INCIDENT – BROOKSIDE MALL / LARCH ROAD

AET Control Room received information regarding a shooting incident near the traffic circle in the vicinity of Brookside Mall on Larch Road.

Preliminary information indicates that an unknown number of suspects allegedly opened fire, resulting in three male victims sustaining gunshot wounds. A fourth male reportedly sustained fatal injuries.

SAPS and relevant emergency services attended the scene, with AET Armed Response assisting authorities in securing and containing the area.

At this stage, the motive for the shooting and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unconfirmed. The matter is being investigated by SAPS.

Members of the public are urged to avoid the immediate area where possible and allow emergency personnel and authorities to carry out their duties.

Following an ongoing intelligence-gathering operation and coordinated efforts between AET Security and Mountain Rise SAPS, a suspect reportedly wanted in connection with multiple criminal cases in the Balhambra Way and surrounding areas was successfully located and apprehended during a planned operation.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to Mountain Rise SAPS for further investigation and processing. Information received indicates that the individual may be linked to multiple reported cases in the area.

🚨 AET SECURITY SUCCESS REPORT – SUSPECTED STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED 🚨

Location: Merrivale

AET Control Room received information from a community crime group regarding suspicious individuals seen carrying an unidentified item in the Merrivale area.

An AET Armed Response unit was immediately dispatched and began conducting patrols throughout the surrounding area.

During the patrol, an AET Response Officer noticed an abandoned item alongside the road. Further patrols and checks of the surrounding area were conducted.

While investigating, two individuals emerged from a nearby bush area and fled on foot. A KSS response member arrived and assisted AET with a search of the area. The individuals were not located.

The abandoned item was subsequently identified as a geyser and was suspected to have been recently removed from a nearby property.

The geyser was successfully recovered and handed over to Howick SAPS for further investigation and processing.

👏 This successful recovery highlights the value of community information, rapid response and cooperation between local security services and SAPS.

AET Control Room received a panic alarm activation from a client’s property. An AET Armed Response unit was immediately dispatched and arrived on site within minutes.

Upon arrival, the response officer observed a suspect attempting to fight with the client. The suspect was successfully restrained and apprehended.

It was established that the suspect had allegedly broken into the rear building and had already removed several items from the property, which he had placed aside.

AET Response recovered the stolen items and secured the scene. Howick SAPS was engaged as part of the response and attended to the matter, with the suspect and recovered items handed over for further processing and investigation. A case was subsequently opened.

AET Armed Response successfully apprehended a suspect reportedly wanted in connection with multiple cases in the Copesville and surrounding areas.

During proactive patrols, officers identified an individual matching the description from previously circulated CCTV footage. Officers acted swiftly, preventing the suspect from fleeing.

The suspect was apprehended and handed over to *Mountain Rise SAPS* for further investigation. Information received indicates the suspect is wanted in connection with more than three case numbers.

This successful operation highlights the importance of *CCTV, community intelligence and proactive patrols* in combating crime.
