A tricky double pine removal in Hemel & Aarde recently.

There were a few obstacles to work around, so this one needed careful planning, good rigging and constant communication between the guys.

Jobs like this are all about taking your time, reading the situation properly and making sure every piece comes down safely.

Very proud of how the team handled this one. 🌲

There’s a lot of trust in this work.

When I’m up a tree, I’m trusting the bloke on the rope below me. He’s trusting me to make the right call up top.

No one needs to say much. Everyone knows their job. Everyone’s watching out for the next guy.

That kind of trust takes time.

Built over long days, hard jobs, mistakes, laughs and plenty of sawdust.

But really, it means I’ve spent a lot of time in, under and around trees — learning how they grow, what makes them sick, what puts them at risk and what they need to thrive.
