OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM ITHUBA PROTECTION SERVICES
ITHUBA PROTECTION SERVICES STANDS WITH THE WOMEN OF SOUTH AFRICA
At Ithuba Protection Services, our mandate is to protect life. We cannot remain silent while the women of this country live in fear.
We are outraged and deeply saddened by the rising death toll of women due to gender-based violence and femicide. As protectors, as fathers, brothers, husbands and sons, we condemn in the strongest terms the ongoing violence against women and children.
We declare today:
That a real man does not harm a woman or a child.
That real strength is shown in protection, not in abuse.
That real leadership takes accountability, seeks help, and listens.
We call on all men in South Africa, especially those in the security and law enforcement fraternity, to speak up, speak out, and stand in solidarity against the toxic behaviours that have become normalized and wrongly associated with masculinity.
Ithuba Protection Services commits to:
1. Zero tolerance for any form of gender-based violence within our ranks and operations.
2. Protecting victims and assisting where possible to ensure their safety.
3. Educating our teams to be ambassadors against GBV in their communities.
To every woman in South Africa: You are not alone. We see you. We stand with you. We will protect you.
To those who need help, our doors are open.
