Bosun is also a proud member of the American National Concrete Masonry Association. This is the leading authority in the design and construction of Concrete Retaining Wall blocks. We endeavour to make their technical information and training available to the retaining wall industry in South Africa. The majority of Bosun products comply with the relevant South African National Standards. The products that we guarantee to be compliant are officially certified and compliant with SANS 1058, SANS 927 and SANS 508 by the Concrete Manufacturers Association Certification Service (CMACS). Until recently, the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) used to be the only independent mark scheme recognised to certify compliance with the South African National Standards for precast concrete products. After the CMACS was established, Bosun chose to withdraw its subscription to the SABS and exclusively use the CMACS for compliance auditing and testing, as it offers more industry-related expertise. The important aspect, however, is not which mark certifies compliance with the relevant South African National Standard, but rather which one certifies compliance with the standard.
