WHAT IS A UASOC—AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?
A UASOC (Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operating Certificate), commonly known as an ROC, is issued by the South African Civil Aviation Authority to organisations authorised to conduct commercial drone operations under Part 101.
Owning a registered drone or holding a Remote Pilot Licence does not automatically mean you may operate commercially. Legal commercial operations require the correct operator certification, approved procedures, qualified personnel, aircraft documentation and ongoing safety compliance.
