Because of the Super El Nino weather system, we have been warned to expect a hot and very dry summer season. Please collect some rainwater now. Add a watertank and save water. It is precious

Seeing as the Akkerkloof dam is almost empty, it has become crucial that all households have an emergency supply- rainwater tanks- installed. What does this involve?
1) A space next to a downpipe of a good roof catchment area. ( its no good if downpipe is only catching a small area of rainfall)
2) A solid base- or a brick built raised plinth- raised off the ground so you can fit a bucket under the tap, or flat on ground, with a hose attachment
3) A water tank- we advise 2000L and upwards- see specials online for pricing
4) attachment to downpipe, and a tap installed
Optional extras include: water filters, and pressure pumps
It all adds up of course.

I have been getting calls from all over SA thanks to Google, and also thanks to there being too many plumbers all over the country called Bruce. Apparently, they all look similar too. PLEASE, you need to make sure you find the *right* Bruce if you need a plumber in KNYSNA , Bruce Botha is the guy. Experienced and wise.

In other news, please don't call us to unblock really bad overflowing drains. I will refer you to Neil of Hydrojet or a similar service. I am happy to install septic tanks, soak aways and drainage but not to deal with Knysna's existing bad drainage issues anymore. Thank you.

A fairly old electric hot water cylinder needed some TLC, and now it will work efficiently for longer. Improve original leaking pipework, replace pressure valve, test, and replace geyser blanket.

No need to pay some dodgy guy R3000 for a new thermostat in your geyser, (that stops working a month later) when we would charge under R1000 for installation and supply of a guaranteed thermostat. Besides, we always advise the element be replaced at same time. Saving you time and money. Don't be afraid to call us to ask what we charge. So many ska-bangers out there. Be careful hey.

I managed to help a customer during the storm. We prevented water damage on a grand scale as the rain downpour had just started. The tree branches were poking down into their house! Shew!

Shew, that storm was crazy!
Keep your stormwater drains clear and diverted away from the sewer line or septic tank system. Its shocking how often this is overlooked.

Back in the day, all plumbers had to carry their valid plumbers licence. I misplaced my first one, this was my 2nd one. Nowadays anyone seems to do 'plumbing' and then, they charge the same as a qualified guy. Beware!
There is a right way to do a job and a wrong way. Wrong way might work for a bit. 🙃

We understand Knysna is a holiday town and "Boer maak n plan" but this kind of handyman plumbing is NOT effective. 😂We hear and see too many bad plumbing and rip off stories.
