🔒 July Crime Summary – From Hi-Tec Coastal, Your Trusted Local Security Team 🔒
Below is a belated summary of incidents attended to by Hi-Tec Coastal Security in Kenton-on-Sea, Bushman's River Mouth/Boesmansriviermond, Boknesstrand, and surrounding areas throughout July. This report categorises all crime incidents by suburb.
July was a busy month for our Response team, with 26 incidents across 5 areas and an impressive 5 arrests. That’s fewer incidents than June, but more arrests — and our officers deserve real credit for the work that went into identifying and apprehending suspects. 👏 We’re hopeful that these repeat offenders will face the consequences of their actions through the justice system.
🔧 Copper theft remains a major concern, with pipes, taps and fittings still being targeted across our areas. We’re also seeing thieves turning their attention to the new water meters and electrical cables. To give a clearer picture of these crime trends, we’re now recording general theft, copper theft, water meter theft and cable theft separately to better reflect what our communities are facing.
🔌 Cable Theft Alert: Municipal electrical cables are being targeted by cable thieves. If you hear grinding, cutting, banging, or anything unusual in your area, please report it immediately. The sooner we know about it, the sooner our teams can investigate and potentially catch offenders before they cause further damage.
🛑 Don’t wait until your property is targeted. Copper pipes, fittings and other outdoor items can be stolen in minutes, leaving you with the cost and inconvenience of repairs. Exposed plumbing and vulnerable outdoor equipment can be protected with modern alarm technology and outdoor detection devices, which can alert our Response team before thieves have the chance to get away.
💡 If you have exposed plumbing, a gate motor, water meter or other vulnerable equipment on your property, speak to our office about practical ways to protect it. A little extra security now could save you a lot of money and frustration later.
