3 ELECTRICAL WARNING SIGNS YOU SHOULDN’T IGNORE

Electrical problems are not always obvious. Recognising the early warning signs can help prevent damage, costly repairs and potential safety hazards.

1. Flickering or Dimming Lights
Persistent flickering or unexpected changes in brightness may indicate an issue with your electrical supply, wiring or connections.

2. Burning Smells or Discolouration
A burning smell, scorch marks or discolouration around plugs, switches or electrical outlets can indicate overheating and should be investigated immediately.

3. Hot, Buzzing or Crackling Plugs and Switches
Electrical outlets and switches should not become unusually hot or produce buzzing, crackling or sparking sounds. These can be signs of a serious electrical fault.

If you notice any of these warning signs, don’t ignore them. Have the issue assessed by a qualified electrician.
