SOLAR 101 with ALLSOLAR South Africa.
What does a battery’s kWh rating actually mean?
When comparing solar batteries, you'll often see ratings like 5 kWh, 10 kWh or 15 kWh and so on, but what do these numbers actually tell you?
-kWh (kilowatt-hour) measures ENERGY.
It tells you how much energy your battery can store.
For example, a 10 kWh battery could theoretically supply:
⚡ 1 kW for 10 hours
⚡ 2 kW for 5 hours
⚡ 5 kW for 2 hours
Choosing the right battery is only one part of building a solar system that performs properly. Your battery capacity, inverter size, solar generation and actual electricity usage all need to work together.
At ALLSOLAR, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We look at how you use electricity, what you want your system to achieve and what makes sense for your budget before recommending a solution.
With an experienced network across South Africa, ALLSOLAR combines local knowledge with nationwide support, providing tailored solar solutions for homes, businesses, farms and industrial applications.
