Pets and Animals Around the Pool Area

✅Never leave pets unattended near or in the pool.
✅Ensure pets know how to safely exit the pool using steps or a designated pet ramp.
✅Keep the pool covered or securely enclosed when not in use to prevent accidental falls.
✅Provide fresh drinking water to discourage pets from drinking pool water.
✅Rinse pets after swimming to remove chlorine or other pool chemicals from their coat.
✅Regularly inspect the pool area to ensure gates, covers, and moving deck mechanisms are secure before allowing pets access.

BE SAFE WITH SWIMMING POOL CHEMICALS

Store safely. Keep all pool chemicals in a locked, well-ventilated cabinet, completely out of children’s and pets’ reach.

Never mix chemicals. Combining different pool chemicals can cause dangerous reactions, including fires or toxic gas release.

Wait before swimming. After adding chemicals, always observe the recommended wait time—typically 15–30 minutes after shocking—before allowing anyone to enter the water.

Rinse after swimming. Rinse children and pets thoroughly after they’ve been in the pool to remove chlorine residue from skin and fur.

Test water regularly. Maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.6 and free chlorine between 1 and 3 ppm for safe, comfortable swimming conditions.

As temperatures drop, it's tempting to neglect your pool — but don't! Lower water temps slow algae growth, so you can cut back on chemicals slightly. However, it's the perfect time to check and clean your filter, balance your pH (aim for 7.2–7.6), and keep your pump running at least 4–6 hours a day to prevent stagnation. A little winter maintenance now means a sparkling pool come summer! 💧☀️
