After all is said and done the back is sealed up with expander foam and I move on to get the fridge up and running again. Freezing stuff and keeping the food cold.

I used soapy water and checked all the usual suspects, that is all the welds that are exposed and the leak was still there. So then into removing the expander foam and following the pipes. I found a join that looked very rusted and suspect. Again using soapy water and brushing it over the spot and sure enough you can see the leak bubbling away. So cut the dodgy pipes off and solder fresh ones in. With this fridge it was not just in that place so it was pressure test, expose the pipes and keep going. I had to replace one more section and then we where a winner.

Gauges tell you a story. Sometimes it is subtle and other times it is obvious. I use a compressor and pressure test the whole system From the photos below I can see there is a leak. In the next photos we will take a look at where the leak is.

So this the a good working fridge datalogger. You can see the temp hovers in the cold area where you need it to look after your food. Where the temp goes up could be where new groceries or left overs are put in the fridge. Hope it is not the kids leaving the door open (Sometimes us adults do that also). So this is what we are after when we fix fridges and freezers.

Having a temp data logger provides you with great information.
This fridge is not behaving well. The data logger is in the freezer.
