“It’s not only about the equipment, it’s about preserving our historical archives.” Dr Daisy Selematsela, Director of Wits Libraries.

We’re glad to have completed the design of the Wits Library Digitisation Centre in their new home at the Wartenweiller Library which opened last week. The state of the art facility plays a key role in the preservation of our historical records like the original Freedom Charter and artifacts in its collection.

Mills -our building in Newtown, received a blue heritage plaque from the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation.

Heartening to see that the histories of the Black and Indian communities were not overlooked and that their forcible removal was acknowledged.

We are grateful to be part of the Methods Exhibition by the dynamic teaching staff at the School of Architecture and Planning.

The exhibition - “ Research Praxis in Making, Doing and Teaching” brings together a body of work by practitioners and educators whose practices move fluidly across design, art, pedagogy, and built form. It foregrounds research not as something that follows making, but as something embedded within it.

Our exhibit positions Collaboration as design methodology that establishes architecture as an open- ended process that facilitates engagement, supports multiple forms of occupation, and acts as a catalyst for ongoing transformation.
