As part of developing the project concept for andBeyond Punakha River Lodge , we also helped guide the uniform design. Luckily for us, the Bhutanese already dress so beautifully, so the inspiration was not hard to find!

Luxury is the sum of its parts, so when we design, we think of every detail. Tractors to toothpicks and everything in between!

That includes making the teams who take care of guests feel special in what they wear, and of course making sure it complements the design.

Our hospitality team develops the initial thinking and concepts, and then we collaborate with talented uniform specialists to bring the vision to life.

This is one of the greatest honours, and we are so proud to be included in this issue for not only one, but two of our recent projects andBeyond Suyian Lodge and Chichele Presidential Lodge!

The pavilion is one of those spaces that gives guests a beautiful place to dine, sit and watch for whatever might wander past.
We first added this open-air dining space during our 2017 refresh of Phinda Vlei. This time around, we kept the existing furniture that still worked beautifully, brought in a few new pieces, and added a woven basket wall!

Each guest suite now has its own private sala. The woven basket screen was made for us by the incredible team at Cane World Furniture, who created a series of decorative screens inspired by Zulu baskets. They bring privacy, texture, and a lovely handmade craft to the space, making it feel intimate while still open to the reserve.
