STEP INTO THE BOARDROOMS AND FACTORIES THEY TOLD YOU THAT YOU DIDN'T BELONG IN.
After building my salon from one single nail table into a known business with a team of nine. I could have just sat back and been comfortable. But something inside me kept whispering: "YOU CAN DO BIGGER THINGS, DON'T LIMIT YOURSELF"
So, I decided to enter a world that very few women-especially Black women are visible in: INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING.
I started my own TISSUE MANUFACTURING FACTORY🧻 🏭
Let me tell you, stepping out of the beauty industry and into a factory environment was terrifying. I didn't grow up learning about heavy machinery, raw paper materials, supply chains, or mass distribution. When you tell people you want to manufacture tissue rollers, they look at you like you are crazy. They think it's too expensive, too difficult and field only meant for big conglomerates.
But I remember the little 10 year old who lost her mom and survived an abusive relationship. I survived hell-why should a factory intimidate me?
It wasn't an easy road. I had to learn the technology, find suppliers, secure funding, and convince retailers to put my products on their shelves. There were days the machines jammed, days logistics fails and days I wondered what I had gotten myself into.
But today we are producing, we are manufacturing, we are competing.
I'm sharing this because I want to challenge every women and every young entrepreneur reading this. DO NOT BOX YOURSELF IN. Just because you started in one industry doesn't mean you have to stay there. If you want build factories, build them. If you want to enter logistics, agriculture, or tech, do it.
The same mind that can successfully run a salon can successfully run a manufacturing plant. It takes discipline, the willingness to learn, and a refusal to let anyone tell you what you are capable of.
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE AND YOU CAN DO IT. Stop playing small. The world is waiting for your empire💪🏽✨
