🚨 **POLICE RECOVER TWO ABANDONED HAND GRENADES IN WILRO PARK**

Police in **Roodepoort** recovered two hand grenades that had been abandoned in an open field in **Wilro Park** on 24 September 2026 at around 20:00.

The explosives were discovered by a passer-by, who alerted police. The **Police Explosives Unit** attended the scene and safely removed the hand grenades.

🔷 No arrests have been made at this stage.

🔷 Police investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is urged to contact their nearest police station, **Crime Stop: 08600 10111**, or use the **MySAPS App** to provide information anonymously.

🚨 PLANNED BUSINESS ROBBERY DISRUPTED | EIGHT ARRESTED 🚨

Police in Rustenburg, North West, have arrested eight male suspects aged between 26 and 38 after allegedly disrupting a planned business robbery.

🔷 On Thursday, 17 September 2026, police received information that suspects travelling in a bronze Volkswagen Polo and a silver Chevrolet were allegedly planning an armed robbery at a business in Rustenburg East.

🔷 Members of the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, Provincial Tracking Team, Crime Intelligence, Visible Policing and Crime Intelligence Overt Operations were deployed.

🔷 The two vehicles were located and police approached the suspects.

🔷 Police report that the suspects allegedly drew fi****ms and opened fire. Officers returned fire and contained the situation.

Three suspects sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital, where they remain under police guard.

Two unmarked police vehicles were damaged during the incident.

The suspects are expected to face charges relating to the alleged planned business robbery and other offences arising from the incident.

[WANTED PERSON IN CONNECTION WITH A DOBSONVILLE R**E CASE NOT RELATED TO EKURHULENI MURDERS]

The has not released any photograph or identikit of a suspect in connection with the eight murders of women currently under investigation.

The Johannesburg District Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is appealing for public assistance to identify and locate a person of interest linked to a r**e case reported in Dobsonville on 1 September 2026. Police allege that the victim was forced into a white Toyota Quantum occupied by three unknown men before being taken to an open area, where she was allegedly r**ed. Anyone who can identify or locate the person pictured is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Ntobong on 067 100 2282, their nearest police station, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Information can also be submitted anonymously via the MySAPS App.

⚡ CABLE THIEF CAUGHT RED-HANDED AFTER ALLEGED ELECTROCUTION IN PERRIDGEVALE ⚡

A suspected cable thief was arrested in Perridgevale after a security response officer spotted suspicious activity near a manhole in Diaz Road during an early morning patrol.

According to reports, the officer allegedly caught the suspect stealing cable from the manhole and immediately called for backup before detaining him at the scene.

The suspect was reportedly found with badly burned hands, believed to have been caused by an electric shock while cutting the cables.

Authorities confiscated a panga allegedly used to cut the cable, along with approximately 90 metres of stolen cable found in the suspect’s possession.

Members of Mount Road Police Station later arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody.
