This month, we honour Ellison Gombera, whose rapid response and unwavering commitment keep the Makana Brick plant alive and running.

Ellison, head of our electrical department, is known for being the first to respond to breakdowns, the one who goes the extra mile, and the leader who trains our team to use equipment safely. He has been holding down the plant with very little help, showing exceptional dedication and reliability.

After completing her very first Comrades Marathon this year, Lizzie was honoured with the Terri‑Lynn Penney Award at the GBS Mutual Bank Mountain Drive Half Marathon - a recognition reserved for women who embody passion, perseverance, and the true spirit of Makhanda running.

She also placed 2nd in the Women 35 - 39 category, proving once again that her commitment runs deep.
