Mobicast was established during 1981 in GEORGE, and has ever since been the leading supplier of concrete building products in the Southern Cape. Presently we have branches in George, Groot Brak, Mossel Bay, Plettenberg Bay and Cape Town. We do supply our clients over the entire Southern- and Western Cape, as well as the western part of the Eastern Cape.Mobicast manufactures the whole spectrum of concrete masonry and general precast concrete products, ie: paving, bricks, blocks, slabs, walls, tiles, cladding, pots …….. We are also licensed manufacturers of leading brands like: SmartStone, TerraForce & Loffelstein. Mobicast is a producer member of the Concrete Manufacturers’ Association and our products carry the SABS mark – ensuring that we manufacture products of a consistent high quality. The Terraforce Retaining Walls® round face finish gives this retaining wall at the Takealot distribution centre in Cape Town its distinctive scalloped look. The rounded block faces create a soft, rhythmic texture that catches the light and follows the curves of the wall.

Round face blocks add character to large-scale infrastructure without losing strength or practicality. The wall also steps down at its end, showing how flexible the Terraforce® system is on a working logistics site.

Project follow-up: Terraforce Retaining Walls® walls at eZulwini, Eswatini, eleven years on

Cutting into the hillside for the new International Convention Centre and five-star resort exposed steep, unstable slopes. The solution was a tiered Terraforce® wall system: a 2m double-skin first tier, the base for 4m stepped tiers, reaching up to 26m, an all-time high for Terraforce® retaining wall engineering to date.

Designed by Fred Laker for Terrasafe® and installed by EFS Construction, a Terraforce® licensed manufacturer and recommended contractor, the walls used 267,700 customised L11 blocks.

Seedling bags were built into the infill as each tier went up, and the red oxide blocks now sit under groundcover, shrubs and creepers, as photographed in September 2026.

A Terraforce® Terracrete™ permeable paver stormwater channel under construction in Wolseley, with the Western Cape mountains as a backdrop. The pavers interlock to form a continuous, hard-wearing lining that protects the channel from erosion. The inset shows the edging detail, where the blocks are set to finish the channel edge neatly and hold the lining in place against the surrounding ground.
