ONE COMMUNITY. ONE PARTNERSHIP. ONE MISSION. ๐Ÿค

Saturday morning, the Sonstraal Heights Neighbourhood Watch (SHNW) treated us to breakfast as a thank-you for the work we do alongside them in the community โ€” and to celebrate an incredible milestone: the installation of their 100th camera in Sonstraal Heights. ๐Ÿ“น

But behind every camera is a community that makes it possible.

To the residents of Sonstraal Heights who contribute to SHNW โ€” thank you. Your support helps fund the cameras, technology and resources that strengthen security in your neighbourhood and provide valuable eyes on the ground when criminals strike.

This is what community partnership looks like. When residents support their neighbourhood watch, and organisations work together, we create a stronger network that helps detect, deter and catch criminals.

And to the SHNW team: thank you for your dedication, your vigilance and for keeping your hands on crime in Sonstraal Heights. We are proud to stand alongside you.

100 cameras. One united community. A safer Sonstraal Heights. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿšจ Caught in the Act.

At 02:33 this morning, CDF members responded to a camera trigger in Durbanville.

Within one minute of arriving on scene, our Armed Response Officer discovered a suspect inside a vehicle after its rear window had been smashed.

Backup was immediately requested, and the suspect was safely removed from the vehicle and detained without incident.

SAPS attended the scene shortly afterwards and placed the suspect under arrest. The owner of the vehicle will be identified so that a criminal case can proceed.

This incident once again highlights the value of proactive camera monitoring, rapid response, and strong cooperation between CDF, our clients, and SAPS.

Crime doesn't stop at night. Neither do we.

If you notice suspicious activity in your neighbourhood, report it immediately. Every minute counts.

๐Ÿšจ Stolen. Tracked. Recovered. Three Suspects Arrested.

A stolen FNB Speedpoint. A sharp-eyed complainant. Quick information. Fast action.

On Monday, CDF members responded to Engen Cavalier after a client recognised the suspect responsible for stealing an FNB Speedpoint from CCTV footage.

Although the suspects initially disappeared into the busy Durbanville CBD, our members followed every lead. Within a short time, both the male and female suspects were located and detained.

During questioning, the suspects revealed who they had sold the stolen Speedpoint to. Members immediately followed up on the information, located the third suspect, and recovered the stolen device in Morningstar.

The Speedpoint was returned to the complainant, who positively identified it as the stolen property. All three suspects were handed over to Durbanville SAPS, where a theft case has been opened for further investigation.

This incident is another reminder that good CCTV footage, fast reporting, and rapid response can make all the difference.

Criminals are persistentโ€”but so are we.

If you witness suspicious activity, contact the CDF Control Room immediately. The sooner we know, the sooner we can act.

๐Ÿšจ ONE WEEKEND. THREE INCIDENTS. ONE SUSPECT ARRESTED. ๐Ÿšจ

It was a busy weekend for our Armed Response teams, who responded to three separate incidents in Brackenfell Industrialโ€”two of which occurred at the same premises within hours of each other.

On Saturday evening, officers responded to an attempted break-in at a business in Viben Street, where a suspect fled after damaging the perimeter fence.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, our teams responded to a cable theft in progress in Brass Street. The suspects fled on the arrival of our officers, abandoning the stolen cables before escaping.

A few hours later, another alarm activation was received at the same Brass Street premises. Thanks to the swift response, vigilance and teamwork of our officers, one suspect was successfully apprehended after a coordinated pursuit and handed over to SAPS.

These incidents serve as an important reminder that criminals will often revisit targeted areasโ€”but so will we.

At CDF, every alarm activation is treated as a priority. Our dedicated Control Room and Armed Response teams remain committed to protecting our clients, preventing crime where possible, and working alongside SAPS to make our communities safer.

Protecting what matters most. 24 hours a day. 365 days a year.

๐Ÿš” Another Busy Week Keeping Our Community Safe

Our night shift teams have been hard at work this past week, responding to multiple incidents across Durbanville, Brackenfell and Kraaifontein.

Throughout the week, our officers attended to:
โ€ข Multiple attempted break-ins
โ€ข Reports of suspicious persons
โ€ข Wall jumpers

One suspect who attempted to jump a wall in Lindenberg Street was successfully apprehended by our response team.

During one of our routine Bin Operations, our officers also apprehended two suspects found in possession of tik. They were handed over to Phesantekraal SAPS for further legal proceedings.

These incidents serve as an important reminder that crime can occur at any time. Thanks to the vigilance of our officers, our control room, community members, neighbourhood watches and SAPS, swift action was taken to protect our communities.

We encourage all residents of Durbanville, Brackenfell and Kraaifontein to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. A quick call can make all the difference.

Together, we remain stronger. Together, we continue building safer communities.

As public marches are expected to take place across various parts of South Africa on 30 June and 1 July 2026, CDF will remain on heightened alert and continue supporting law enforcement and emergency services in maintaining the safety of our communities.

While the marches are intended to be peaceful, we encourage everyone to remain vigilant, avoid areas where large gatherings are taking place where possible, and follow the instructions of law enforcement officials at all times.

We also ask our clients to use their alarm systems responsibly. If you are aware of a false alarm activation, please notify our Control Room immediately. This helps ensure our response teams remain available for genuine emergencies should they arise.

CDF has zero tolerance for violence, intimidation, vandalism or any other unlawful activity. The safety of our communities remains our highest priority.

๐Ÿšจ Suspect Arrested in Brackenfell Industrial

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, CDF Armed Response officers responded to reports of an unknown male on a client's premises in Brackenfell Industrial.

Upon arrival, officers located a suspect hiding underneath a vehicle on the property. Working swiftly to secure the scene, the suspect was detained until members of SAPS arrived.

A big thank you to Brackenfell SAPS for their prompt response and assistance in taking the suspect into custody for further investigation.

This incident is another reminder that rapid response, strong partnerships, and vigilant reporting play a vital role in keeping our communities and businesses safe.

โš ๏ธ Never release goods until the funds reflect in your bank account.

Have you or someone you know been targeted by a Marketplace scam?

Share your experience in the comments to help warn others and create awareness in our community. Your story could prevent someone else from becoming the next victim.
