Thinking about a new home, granny flat, home office or classroom block this year? 🏗️ The smoothest builds almost always start with a well-prepared site.

Here is the checklist we share with our clients: clear access for delivery vehicles, a cleared and levelled plot with stable ground, water and temporary power on site, approved municipal building plans, and boundaries and stormwater run-off sorted out. Get those five right and you avoid most of the common delays.

How many garages do you actually need? 🚗 It is one of the most common questions homeowners ask us, and the answer is rarely just about cars.

Start with vehicle capacity, then add up what else needs a home: storage, a workshop bench, tools, bikes, a trailer. Many families find a double becomes tight within a few years.

Next, think about the door layout. One wide door or two separate doors affects the structure, the look and how easily you park.

Then check access and the turning circle off your driveway, and pick finishes that match the existing house so the new garage blends in rather than sticks out.
