Some to kick water wasting habits! 💧
Toilets are a massive culprit when it comes to water wastage!
Did you know that every-time you flush you use 5-11 litres of water depending on what kind of toilet you have, so when you drop that tissue in the loo and pull the handle 5-11 litres of water goes with it!
Think carefully about what you’re throwing in your loo, obviously some things you definitely shouldn’t throw in there at all, and when to flush.
Always remember if it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down!
Taking your time in the shower, or filling the bath to chin level is not going to win you water conservation award of the year, make your showers shorter and your baths emptier and get clean without using up ALL the water you can.
Leaks people! Such a water waster!
Look out for leaks around your toilet, leaky faucets, hose bibbs and any other plumbing fixture that you use regularly. They might seem innocuous and something you can continually put off, but trust us, they are costing you monthly on your water bill, not to mention making you a water waster!
Half loads, whether it be the washing machine or the dishwasher!
Make sure your loads are relatively full before you wash, or put it to eco/light cycle so that you don’t use excessive water for what you need.
TURN THE TAP OFF while you’re washing the dishes! We know it’s a hack to continually turn it on and off, but in the interests of the planet, your community and your bottom line, turn it off in between and save on water!
