It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of the Chief Surveyor-General of South Africa - Mr Mmuso Riba. We recognise his years of leadership and dedication to the betterment of the Land Surveying industry and the contribution this made to the overall development goals of South Africa. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and colleagues.

A slightly unusual day in the field for a few of our surveyors.

A slightly unusual day in the field for a few of our surveyors.

On 12 September 2019, South African artist Percy Maimela broke the World Record for creating the largest portrait using coffee granules.

In partnership with Sound Idea Sessions, Percy (aged 33) from Winterveld north of Pretoria attempted to create a 25+ sqm painting using DJ Black Coffee, at Sandton City in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Surveyors from GeoAfrika and an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records were on-hand to accurately measure and confirm the size of the portrait. The result was a record-breaking coffee mosaic of 25.962 sqm!

Well done Percy!!! 👍🏻
