Cable Theft Suspect Caught at Silverglen Power Box

Blue Security Control Centre received information regarding a suspect allegedly stripping cables from an Openserve power box in the Silverglen area.

Blue Security Tactical Officers and Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate the report.

Upon arrival, responding members found the suspect still on site and successfully apprehended him before he could leave the area.

A CPI Investigator subsequently attended the scene alongside Bayview SAPS. The suspect was handed over to SAPS and taken into custody for further investigation and processing.

The successful apprehension highlights the importance of community intelligence, rapid response and proactive patrols in protecting critical infrastructure and preventing cable theft.

Outcome: Suspect apprehended and handed over to SAPS for further investigation.

Wanted Vehicle Intercepted, Suspect Apprehended

As part of Blue Security’s All Good In The Hood (AGITH) initiative in the Upper Highway, the Blue Security Tactical Officer was conducting proactive patrols when an alert was received via our camera network on SNIPR regarding a red Renault Kwid wanted in connection with a fraud-related matter.

The vehicle information was immediately relayed to our response teams, and the Tactical Officer began patrolling the surrounding area in an effort to locate it.

Through proactive tactical visibility and real-time intelligence, the vehicle was successfully spotted and intercepted by the Blue Security Tactical Officer.

The driver was detained pending the arrival of SAPS. SAPS attended the scene, took custody of the suspect and proceeded with the necessary police procedures.

The successful interception demonstrates the role of the All Good In The Hood campaign in supporting proactive policing across the Upper Highway communities, combining tactical visibility, technology and rapid response to identify wanted vehicles and assist law enforcement.

Another Stolen Toyota Cross Recovered After High-Speed Pursuit

Blue Security Tactical Officers received information regarding a Toyota Cross that had been stolen from the Bluff and immediately began searching for the vehicle.

Members subsequently spotted the stolen Toyota Cross travelling at high speed as it entered the KwaMakhutha area. A Blue Security Tactical Officer pursued the vehicle into the area in an effort to recover it.

The suspects eventually abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Despite the suspects escaping, the stolen Toyota Cross was successfully recovered.

The vehicle was handed over to Capital Air Tracking and subsequently returned to its grateful owner.

Gate Motor Theft Suspect Caught After Umbilo Chase

Blue Security Command Centre received information regarding a suspect allegedly attempting to steal a gate motor at a property in Bulwer Road, Umbilo. The Area Manager was immediately dispatched to the location, while the information was relayed to Blue Security Tactical Officers.

A Tactical Officer responded to the reported location and found visible signs of tampering on the gate motor. A search of the surrounding roads and area was immediately initiated in an effort to locate the suspect.

The Tactical Officer proceeded to a nearby complex in Prains Avenue, where access was provided by the security guard on duty. During a thorough search of the complex, the suspect was spotted and a chase ensued.

The Tactical Officer successfully apprehended the suspect, who was subsequently handed over to Umbilo SAPS. Sergeant Madondo and Constable Thaleni attended the scene and transported the suspect to Umbilo Police Station, where he was taken into custody.

The incident was successfully resolved through a rapid response, persistent search and coordinated efforts between Blue Security and SAPS.

Firearm Recovered During Umbilo Property Search

Blue Security Control Room contacted a client following a panic activation at a property in Cavell Place, Umbilo. The client reported hearing suspicious noises and believed that there may be intruders on the premises.

Blue Security Armed Response Officers, Tactical Officers and an Area Manager immediately mobilised to the property, where they met with the male and female residents.

Responding members conducted a thorough search of the property, including the interior, perimeter and ceiling cavity. No signs of forced entry, intruders or property damage were found.

During the exterior search of the property, members discovered a firearm wrapped in a plastic bag on the roof.

Umbilo SAPS Trio Unit attended the scene, and the recovered firearm was handed over to SAPS and booked into the Umbilo SAPS 13 for further investigation.

The property was confirmed clear, with no injuries or damage reported.
