Some pool problems are easy enough to tackle yourself. But others could cost you more time, water and money if you don't get expert help!

Here are 6 signs it's time to call AquaElite Pools:

Your pool keeps losing water – and you're constantly topping it up.

Your pump is making strange noises – rattling, grinding or humming louder than usual.

Your pump keeps tripping the electricity – a warning sign you shouldn't ignore!

Poor water circulation – your pool just isn't filtering or circulating water properly.

Your pool looks old, tired or damaged – and could do with some professional TLC.

You're planning renovations or landscaping – and want your pool to complement your new outdoor space.

At AquaElite Pools, Rowan McKay and his team can help you identify problems, recommend practical solutions and potentially save you money on costly repairs down the line.

Backwashing your pool doesn’t have to mean wasting hundreds of litres of water.

Keep your backwash short and effective: watch the sight glass and stop as soon as the water runs clear. Then rinse briefly before returning the system to filter mode. There’s no benefit in continuing to backwash once the water is clean.

It’s also a great time to keep an eye on your pool’s water level. If you’re constantly having to top up more than expected, you could have a leak somewhere in the system.

In the Western Cape, every litre counts.

Backwash smarter. Spot problems sooner. Save water, and save money.

Did you know an 8m × 4m pool can hold up to 41,600 litres of water?

Some water loss through evaporation is normal, and a solar blanket can help reduce it.

But if you’re constantly topping up your pool, you may have a leak.

That’s not only costing you money, it’s wasting water we simply cannot afford to lose with our current low levels of water.

Save water. Save money. Find the leak.

Contact AquaElite Pools on 079 057 7949 for solar blankets and if your pool is losing more water than it should.

The suspect? Evaporation.
The evidence? A water level that keeps dropping.
The probable culprit? A hidden pool leak.

If your pool seems to be losing more water than it should, don’t keep topping it up and hoping for the best.

Let AquaElite Pools investigate before a small leak becomes a bigger problem.

Summer is on its way, and so is the heat.

If you’ve already been topping up your swimming pool during winter, there’s a good chance you have a leak. And once summer temperatures rise and evaporation increases, you could find yourself adding even more water just to keep your pool at the right level.

That’s not good for our water levels, and definitely not good for your pocket either.

Don’t wait until you’re pouring money down the drain.

Get that suspected leak checked before summer arrives.

Contact Rowan from AquaElite Pools on 079 057 7949 and make sure your pool is ready for the season ahead.

Some of the most important areas to brush are the easiest ones to forget.

Pay extra attention around:
👉 Steps
👉 Ladders
👉 Corners
👉 Pool fittings
👉 Areas with poor circulation

These spots can become algae hotspots long before the rest of your pool shows obvious signs.

A few extra minutes with the brush can save you a much bigger job later.

HAVE YOU HAD TO TOP UP YOUR POOL THIS WINTER? YOU LIKELY HAVE A LEAK.

With cooler temperatures and less evaporation, your pool should not be losing water regularly. If the level keeps dropping, it is worth having it checked before summer arrives. A hidden leak could be costing you water, chemicals, and money in equipment damage.

Don’t keep topping up the problem. Contact Rowan from AquaElite Pools on 079 057 7949.

That tiny crack might not seem urgent today.

When doing your weekly pool check, look around the:
✔️ Coping
✔️ Surrounding paving
✔️ Fittings
✔️ Visible pool structure

Changes and small cracks are easier to investigate early than after they’ve developed into a larger problem.

If something looks different from last week, don’t ignore it.

Your return jets shouldn’t simply push water into one section of the pool.

Poor circulation can create dead spots where dirt settles and algae is more likely to develop.

Take a look at how the water moves around your pool and check whether some areas consistently collect debris.

Keeping the water clean is only part of looking after your pool. The equipment working behind the scenes needs attention too.

A good maintenance routine includes:
🔹 Weekly: Quick checks of your pump, water flow, cleaner, baskets and any signs of leaks.
🔹 Monthly: Inspect filter pressure, seals, hoses, valves, fittings and circulation.
🔹 Every 6–12 months: Have your complete pool system professionally inspected and serviced.

Regular checks can help identify smaller problems before they become expensive repairs.
