🚨 The Emergency Call-Out
We were dispatched to a property facing a sudden plumbing crisis. Upon arrival, the team found a badly bent main water supply pipe that completely choked off the water flow.
To make matters more complicated, there was no localised shut-off valve for this line. Closing it normally would mean shutting down the main water valve for the entire complex, leaving all the neighbours without water! 😱
🛠️ The Expert Solution
Our plumbers jumped straight into action, managing the live line to install a brand-new, permanent mechanical shut-off valve right on the spot. We then carefully straightened the pipe and joined it back together securely. No neighbors lost water, and the emergency was safely contained! 🔥
🕵️♂️ Digging Deeper: The Hidden Kitchen Leak
As we traced the infrastructure, we uncovered an unusual setup originally put in during the property’s initial construction. The pipe ran from underneath the home’s foundation, out to the water meter, and back again—meaning this was the main supply line before the meter.
Moving into the kitchen, the mystery leak was tracked beneath the sink. To get to it, our team had to:
1️⃣ Remove a section of the kitchen sink cupboard to gain access.
2️⃣ Chip into the brick wall and floor tiles.
3️⃣ Excavate the pipe, which was trapped inside solid cement—completely embedded in the screeding topping (the layer of cement poured on top of the concrete floor slab).
✅ Job Secured & Reinstatement Ready
The leaking PVC pipe was cut out, replaced, and passed all pressure tests with flying colours! 💧 We have intentionally left the repair zone exposed for a short observation window just to guarantee it is 100% sealed before closing it back up permanently.
