What started as a borer beetle problem has turned into a much bigger job than we expected. 🪵

Once we removed the floorboards and started exposing the structure, we discovered that the damage went far beyond the boards. The beams and the entire subframe were in far worse condition than initially thought.

At this point, repairing sections simply isn't enough — the entire subframe needs to be replaced.

This is exactly why hidden timber damage needs to be properly investigated. What looks like a small problem on the surface can reveal a much bigger structural issue underneath.

In this shower, the previous contractor had broken a tile and instead of replacing it properly, covered the damaged area with a piece of metal sheet, sealed with silicone.

It looked like the original tile — so the homeowner had no idea. But over time, the metal started to rust, creating an even bigger problem.

This is why proper repairs matter. A quick cover-up might look fine today, but it can cause serious issues later.

This shower had water getting through where it shouldn’t, so we stripped it back and started from the beginning — addressing the waterproofing and preparing the surface properly before applying the new quartz flooring system.

This roof had multiple leaks before we carried out a full asbestos encapsulation system. By preparing the surface correctly and applying the right coating system, we restored the roof and extended its service life.

Sometimes the best results come from restoring what's already there.
