Why Your Boundary Wall Is Cracking Like This? 👇 (Somerset West Site Inspection Today)

Many clients ask me why their wall looks like this. It's NOT bad bricks - it's root problem:

1. NO FOUNDATION / Shallow foundation
Wall built on top soil, no footing. When rain comes, soil moves, wall cracks. Cape Town winter soil moves a lot.

2. NO CONTROL JOINTS / Columns too far
This wall is 6m+ without expansion joint. Concrete expands in sun - must crack somewhere.

3. WATER - No drainage
Water stays behind wall, pressure pushes wall. See green plants behind? Water.

How we fix ROOT PROBLEM (not just plaster):
✅ Step 1: Expose foundation, check depth
✅ Step 2: Install drainage / weep holes
✅ Step 3: Add movement joint + reinforce with brickforce
✅ Step 4: THEN plaster - smooth straight finish

If you just plaster over this crack without fixing foundation, crack comes back in 3 months!

We are fixing this wall next week - I will post AFTER photo with straight finish.
