🏠💧waterproofing project completed by RMW Building & Maintenance!

Two flat roofs received a complete waterproofing renewal:

✅ Removed the failed bitumen membranes.
✅ Heat-fused new 4 mm bitumen membranes, with flashing and counter-flashing finished using ABE Super Laykold rubberised bitumen waterproofing.
✅ Applied UV-resistant aluminium paint to protect the membranes and help prolong the waterproofing system’s lifespan.

Granny flat roof

headwall and sidewall flashings installed, applied ABE Super Laykold rubberised waterproofing to the parapets and the flashings,then finished with UV-resistant aluminium paint for added protection.

After the installation of a new sewer line, the surrounding area was filled layer by layer with filling sand, thoroughly compacted in between layers to create a solid, stable base.

The existing paving was then carefully refitted, levelled and grouted—leaving the area neat, secure and ready for use.

🛠️ RMW Building and Maintenance PRO TIP | Repair the cause of the problem, not just the surface!

Light to medium web cracking on external walls needs more than a quick skim of filler. Without proper preparation and addressing the underlying cause, those cracks can return, costing you more money on your home 🏠

On this repair, we will:
✅ Cut open each individual crack.
✅ Clean out loose material and dust inside the cut open area
✅ Apply a latex slurry into the prepared gaps.
✅ Fill with SIKA 212 non-shrink grout, sponging off the finish before paint preparation.

Taking the time to prepare and repair properly helps create a longer-lasting finish. 💯

Another waterproofing project successfully completed! 🏠💧

✅ Removed and disposed of the failed bitumen membrane
✅ Heat-fused a new 4 mm bitumen waterproofing membrane
✅ Applied a UV resistant aluminium silver paint to prolong the lifespan of the waterproofing system

✅ Serviced and repaired the existing membrane by sealing all laps and overlaps
✅ Applied a UV resistant aluminium silver paint to prolong the lifespan of the waterproofing system

✅ Removed the failed waterproofing around the chimney
✅ Completed with a UV-resistant aluminium paint to prolong the lifespan of the system

The roof is now properly sealed, protected and ready ☔️

Another structural repair successfully completed! 🛠️

The PVC doors had sagged over time because no lintels were installed above them, placing unnecessary stress on the door frames.

Our team:

✅ Propped and supported the roof beams structure
✅ Removed the brickwork above the PVC doors
✅ Installed pre-stressed lintels
✅ Rebuilt the brickwork in English bond
✅ Plastered internally and externally to match existing plaster
✅ Joint-sealed with white Sika 11FC polyurethane sealant
✅ Prepared the area for painting

The result: properly supported brickwork and no more sagging doors! 💯
