Upgrade of Berg River Boulevard, Paarl
A major infrastructure upgrade delivered by Civils 2000, improving capacity, connectivity and traffic flow along 2.2 km of Berg River Boulevard in Paarl.
The project included upgrading the existing single carriageway to a dual carriageway, widening the Oosbosch Street bridge, upgrading stormwater infrastructure, installing new drainage, street lighting, traffic signals and pedestrian facilities.

Working within a challenging urban environment, the team successfully managed underground services, ongoing traffic accommodation, environmental requirements along the Berg River and heritage considerations.
The project was completed with Civils 2000 receiving the Dr Ivan Deacon Greening Award from the Drakenstein Heritage Foundation in recognition of the care taken with the surrounding environment and the planting of trees as a contribution to the area.
