Some plants return each season with no replanting. They build strong root systems that keep producing for years. Setup once and harvest many cycles.

Walking onions, lavender, chives, echinacea, thyme, asparagus, and rhubarb fall into this group. Each one follows a long growth cycle. Stability matters more than speed.

Place them in soil with steady drainage and space. Let roots settle and expand. Long term growth starts with one strong planting 🌿🌼

Vegetables grow so much better when they’re in the right amount of sun ☀️ A few easy rules:
🍅 Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, and corn need the sunniest area
🥕 Carrots, beets, peas, beans, radishes, and herbs can handle a bit less
🥬 Lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, arugula, and celery can appreciate light shade in summer
💧 Hot afternoon sun dries beds faster, so water needs can change
🌱 Watch your yard for a full day before choosing a planting spot
I’ve learned that struggling plants are sometimes not “bad plants,” they’re just in the wrong spot. A little planning with sunlight can make the whole vegetable garden easier.

Three D's for pruning: Dead,Diseased and Depth
Prune dead branches and branches with yellow leaves or with bug infestation. Cut away any branches growing in towards centre. This creates airflow and better sun absorption.
Also never prune more than ⅓ of the tree and prune early morning on a sunny day. Tree needs 3 sunny days to 'scab over' to prevent bacteria caused by moisture.
Optimum time I found in CT is 15 July to 15 August.

The best time to prune trees in South Africa is generally late winter to early spring (July to August), when trees are dormant and before new spring growth begins. This timing allows you to easily see the tree's structure and minimizes the risk of disease and sap loss.Optimal timing depends on your specific region and tree type:Deciduous Fruit Trees (Apples, Peaches, Pears): Prune in July to early August.
In colder, frost-prone inland areas (like the Highveld), wait until mid-August. In warmer subtropical areas, start as early as June.
Evergreen Trees: Prune after they have flowered or in early spring.
Oaks and Maples: Prune in late spring or early summer to avoid excessive "bleeding" (sap loss) that weakens the tree.
Damaged or Diseased Wood: Prune immediately, regardless of the season, to prevent decay and pest infestations.

Low light plants.
Kitchens,bathrooms, patios and bedrooms.
Most of them purify and cleanse the air and require minimal watering.
Choose your location well,as most indoor plants don't like to be moved often
Ensure they're planted in correct soil and pots are able to drain.
