When using multilayer piping( PEX) in your home make sure you use the correct pipe inserts required for the brand of pipe you using to ensure you don’t have potential leaks down the line! If you see bubbles occurring in pipe know you in for it real soon.
Also ensure you use SABS approved dezincification resistant brass water pipe fittings to prevent corrosion occurring especially if you using borehole/wellpoint water

Roots can even pe*****te your water pipes! 😳
Received a call from a client in Tre Donne estate about poor water pressure to the property. After doing a thorough investigation of the water reticulation on the property the last resort was to check the estates supply and the water meter only to find root growing into the HDPE compression fitting!

As a plumber it’s Hard to believe it possible yet it is!

Another Recent Blocked drain we were called to attend to in Somerset west. Our new CCTV drain camera First job and it paid off with interest! We discovered a manhole that was buried under concrete and tiles where tree roots had grown into the chamber and caused havoc.
We were able to clear the blockage and clean out the manhole resolving the issue and making future blockages a whole lot easier to clear in the future! 🙌🏻

Tree roots are a major problem when it comes to drainage systems! We recently cleared a few blocked drains whereby tree roots had grown into the PVC drain pipes causing terrible sewerage back ups.
Fortunately with the help of our CCTV pipeline camera we were able to pinpoint exactly where they had pe*****ted the pipeline and can get to the root of the issue. 💪🏻

A Heat Pump is SUPER efficient alternative to water heating than standard Geyser elements. They come in different heating capacities to heat up different size geysers. They unfortunately still use and depend on electricity but use a 1/3 the electricity of a geyser element and when size correctly to the geyser can heat up just as fast. The beauty of heat pumps is that due to their low power consumption they can be connected onto your Solar PV inverters systems unlike a standard geyser element which draws far more power. A heat pump is really value for money and your return on investment of the installation can be gain within 1-2 years of the electricity savings and then beyond. They can last up to 10 years and beyond if properly installed and maintained.

The biggest reason why water comes pouring through your ceiling when your geyser bursts is due to poor installation of the Outlet overflow pipe of your geysers drip tray. This client drip tray overflow pipe was running higher than the lid of the drip tray which would cause the tray to fill up and overflow onto the ceiling when the geyser bursts. We redid the overflow pipe with a continuous downward slope to ensure the water drains out of the tray as fast as possible to prevent extensive water damage.
