Spring time and the gardens are alive with birds.

Landscapes are alive. Look how the gentle movement of water drowns out the friction of the day, drawing birdlife back into the heart of the garden.

This is why we love what we do…

When comparing landscape proposals, it is entirely natural to focus on the bottom line. But a garden is not a static product you purchase; it is a complex, living ecosystem.

The true difference in your investment is decided by five distinct components that shape your landscape long before it truly comes to life:

The Foresight of Design: Its not simply positioning plants, one needs to assess soil, sun, wind, and architectural flow. A designers role is to bridge the gap between a beautiful concept plan and physical reality, ensuring that artistic vision translates seamlessly into a buildable, uncompromised landscapes.

The Invisible Engineering: A garden’s longevity begins beneath the soil. Invest in proper soil preparation. it’s the foundation of everything that follows

The Integrity of Materials: Select elements that age with grace. This means choosing hand-crafted stone, clay bricks,  and structural steel designed to patina beautifully over time.

The Narrative of Time: Unlike a standard installation that looks its best on the day it’s completed, a carefully designed landscape matures over time. Every season adds character and depth, making your investment more valuable each year. You’re not just buying plants, you’re investing in the long-term beauty, resilience, and longevity of your home.

We are deeply proud to share that our project, Sanctuary of Solace, has been shortlisted for Landscape and Urban Project of the Year at the SCAPE Awards of Excellence (MMXXVI).

Sanctuary of Solace was conceived as a living refuge, a space where architectural clarity meets soft, biodiversity-rich planting, creating an environment that feels both grounded and restorative. To have this design recognised alongside such exceptional work in landscape architecture is a true privilege.

Thank you to our brilliant team, passionate collaborators, and clients who trust us to bring these living sanctuaries to life.

Before the plants can tell their story, a garden needs a quiet structure to hold them.

We often think of landscapes as purely living, breathing spaces, but the true longevity of a design lies in its hardscaping…the silent, architectural foundation that gives the wild elements their stage.

More than just pathways or walls, thoughtful hardscaping is what defines how you experience a garden. It dictates the rhythm of your steps, creates distinct outdoor "rooms," and anchors the natural topography of the land.

It acts as the permanent frame that allows the soft, living textures of the planting to spill over and soften the edges. When done with intention, the hard and the soft elements exist in a perfect, enduring partnership; one providing the structure, and the other providing the soul.

While the garden appears to be sleeping above the surface, the real, quiet work is happening underground.

In the Western Cape, winter is far from a dormant season, it is our most vital planting window. Settling plants into the earth during these cool, wet months allows them to focus their energy entirely on building deep, resilient root systems, completely free from the harsh demands of the summer sun.

By welcoming the winter rains now, we are giving the landscape the time it needs to anchor itself. When the dry heat and the South-Easter winds eventually arrive, your garden won't just survive; it will already be deeply grounded, water-wise, and ready to thrive.

Of Nature | Featured in Scape Magazine 📖

There was a time when sustainability was easy to define by a checklist; solar panels, water harvesting, and green certifications. Today, the conversation is far more interesting. It has evolved from a collection of technical solutions into a nuanced way of thinking, observing, and understanding our relationship to the world around us.

We are incredibly proud to be featured in the latest issue of Scape Magazine, which explores this exact philosophy: viewing nature as a deep, ongoing relationship rather than just a category of design.

From restorative landscapes to architecture that listens before it speaks, this feature looks at how the built environment can exist within nature, in constant and thoughtful negotiation with it. It’s a dialogue we are deeply passionate about, and we’re honoured to share these pages alongside some extraordinary thinkers.

Soft Garden Entrance.

Loving how this soft planted entrance welcomes you to the front door.
Here we used large step units planted with Crassula Fragilis and the lovely red leaved Crassula Streyi.

Myrica and Phylica shrubs create movement and texture with pops of colour from the Leucodendron yellow devil and cascading rhus.

There is a beautiful, quiet conversation that happens when architecture and nature entirely align.

Defined by its strong structural form, this garden was designed to seamlessly integrate the home into the lines of the surrounding landscape.

Low, ribbon-like hedges anchor the modern architecture, running alongside the front slope before gradually dissolving into the wild, natural vegetation beyond.
These flowing green bands act as a living threshold, softening the hard edges of construction and effortlessly blurring the boundary between the built environment and the earth.

A beautiful collaboration with architects Metropolis Design and developers TTJ Design and Development.

In the Western Cape, water is our most precious design tool. We build gardens that work with nature, not against it.

We believe design is fundamentally about what you don’t see. We never leave a garden’s survival to chance; instead, we plan for the wettest winters and the driest summers from day one.

This is why a comprehensive, professional Water Management Report is woven into the blueprint of every project we take on. It is how we ensure that our high-end designs aren't just beautiful for a season, but resilient, self-sustaining, and deeply anchored for the future.
