How to Drill a Perfect Hole in Brick Without Breaking Through the Other Side Drilling into brick can easily go wrong if you drill too deep. In the first example, the drill goes through too far and damages the other side of the brick. In the second example, I mark the exact drilling depth with tape on the drill bit, then stop at the mark — resulting in a clean, controlled hole.
