I’m so excited to have these two new ink works up at AITY Gallery in Franschhoek, in their fabulous new space!

Rob has been a pleasure to work with, and I’m delighted to be part of the opening collection 🙏

These pieces explore the fluidity of the spaces we inhabit…the fleeting moments, the energy we bring into a room, and the traces a space holds after we leave.

I just LOVE how ink’s movement and unpredictability give that feeling a life of its own!

Seeing these works at a larger scale feels especially exciting too and I can’t wait to see where they find their homes.

Lauren Ratcliffe | Artist

I’m delighted to be part of The Architecture of Leisure, a group exhibition curated by Madeleine van Manen at Artvark Gallery

This painting is about that moment when the day loosens its grip… you know it right when you breath a sigh of relief 😂🥰

It’s when a chair waits beside the table, a cup has been set down, and warm light fills the room. Someone might have just left the space or might be about to sit and stay a while!

This exhibition asks us to think about the spaces where we can pause, shed expectations and simply be.

For me, this is one of those spaces.

Opening Thursday 1 October 2026 at 6pm at Artvark Gallery.

I’d love to see you there. ❤️

✨ What an incredible opening at Pineapple House Interiors last night ✨

The artistic flair and creative talent of Lesley Sykes is honestly beyond amazing. Every corner, every detail, every beautifully crafted piece… I basically wanted to buy EVERYTHING and transport the entire space straight into my own home 😂🎨🩷

And watch this space 👀 Les and I have something exciting brewing… we’re not entirely sure what we’re doing yet 😂 but I know it’s going to be something very cool, and I can’t wait to share it when we do.

Huge congratulations to the whole Pineapple House team on an insanely successful opening night 🥂✨ Such a beautiful celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, colour and design. It was a privilege to be there!

Four little chairs went travelling far away and overseas with all the way to Germany and surrounds. Thank you Florian and for facilitating the sales of these bright little gems in finding in new homes.

I’m inspired to create a whole new series based on all these chair personalities I’ve been conceptualising so watch this space! Exciting things to come! 💃 ✨

These two paintings started with a mistake!

I accidentally smeared paint across the background and, instead of painting over it, I decided to follow where it led.

It made me think about something I’ve always found fascinating…the feeling that’s left behind in a room after someone has gone. Almost as though the space still holds a little of their energy.

I wanted these paintings to sit somewhere between presence and absence. The objects are there… but they’re also disappearing into the light. As if you’re catching glimpses of them rather than seeing them completely. I love that sense of movement and quiet vibration it creates.

Funny how the best ideas sometimes come from the moments when things don’t go to plan.

These two new works will be showing with in Johannesburg from 29 July – 1 August at Glenshiel Estate. Tickets are available soon so keep an eye out Joburgers! 💙

New work loading! 💙🪑💛
As we head into some cooler months this palette of warm blues, yellows and neutrals felt like a good place to kick off autumn 🍂 As I continue with my chair series I’m excited to see which personalities emerge on this canvas!
