The first shingle roof at Gondwana.

Both the structure and the shingles were completed by JNA Group’s Roofing Division. Parts of the ring beam are formed in curved steel, and the ridge beam follows the same bend, giving the roof its distinctive sweeping line. A build where engineering and craft had to meet precisely.

Stone and timber, set side by side. Textured stone surfaces meet the warmth of handcrafted wood joinery, giving this cottage bathroom a sense of calm that feels both grounded and refined.

JNA Group's Projects division completed the facelift to this cottage, renewing the home with care while holding on to its original character.

The result is a space where every material has been chosen to age gracefully.
The same considered approach carries through from the living areas into the quieter, more personal rooms of the home.

A blast from the past.

In the late 1990s, JNA took on a rather unique project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia the construction of Jungle Land Theme Park.

The project included large pole structures, timber buildings and roofs finished with natural piaçava palm thatch, bringing a distinctly tropical character to the development.

We are currently working alongside specialist stone contractors who are meticulously cladding the underlying structure we built. Watching this raw, natural material transform the exterior highlights the monumental teamwork and precise engineering that goes into a bespoke luxury home.

Preserving thatch heritage at Soetmelksvlei.

As Babylonstoren's preferred thatching contractor, JNA Group was entrusted with constructing the thatching and timber roof structures for this late nineteenth-century living museum.

Our team authentically replicated the historic character using traditional exposed poplar beams, while seamlessly integrating modern fire-retardant methods and automatic drencher systems to ensure uncompromising safety.

A proud reflection of our 45 years of heritage craftsmanship, ensuring these magnificent structures endure for generations to come.

20 years later, we’re still looking after it.
Almost two decades ago, we installed the roofs on the main lodge and nine chalets at Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, overlooking the Fish River.

Our team returned last year to completely rethatch the roofs, incorporating our fire-retardant method of fire blanket and metal stitching to bring the roofs in line with SANS 10407.

A beautiful lodge, an incredible setting, and a relationship that has stood the test of time.

We are currently busy with work here as well - more to follow soon!
