That constant sound of a toilet running... 😩🚽💧

You know the one. That annoying hissing or trickling sound that keeps going long after you have flushed. It might seem like a small problem, but it can be frustrating to listen to — and every minute it keeps running, water is being wasted.

If your toilet keeps running after you flush, don't ignore it.

The cause is often a simple problem inside the toilet tank.

🔍 Check for any of these first:

• A worn or damaged flapper
• A flapper that isn't sealing properly
• A chain that is tangled or too tight
• Water flowing into the overflow pipe
• A faulty fill valve
• A water level that is set too high

💡 Try the food colouring test: Add a few drops of food colouring to the toilet tank and wait 10 minutes without flushing. If colour appears in the bowl, you have a leak.

In many cases, the toilet will run because water is leaking from the tank into the bowl, causing the fill valve to keep refilling the tank.

It may only require an adjustment or replacement part/s. If the toilet keeps running, however, it is best to have it checked.

Stop Flushing These Items 🚽

Your toilet isn't a rubbish bin.

What you flush can travel much further than you think — and items that don't break down properly can get stuck, collect other waste and eventually cause a serious blockage.

🚫 Never flush:
• Wet wipes — even if labelled "flushable"
• Paper towels & facial tissues
• Cotton buds & cotton balls
• Dental floss & hair
• Sanitary pads, tampons & nappies
• Cat litter
• Grease, oils & fats
• Food scraps & household waste

The simple rule to remember is:

P*e. Poo. Toilet paper. That's it.

Everything else belongs in the bin.

A blocked drain can mean more than an inconvenience. It can lead to overflowing toilets, wastewater backing up into your home, unpleasant smells, property damage and an expensive plumbing repair.

If your toilet is flushing slowly, gurgling, backing up or your drains keep blocking, don't ignore the warning signs.

Prevention is always better than a plumbing emergency.

A new bar, a fresh installation, and a few tricky details to get right.

Our team was brought in to install the plumbing for the bar, supplying filtered water to both the ice machine and basin.

Sounds simple enough… until you see what was involved.

The basin sits on top of a thick solid-wood counter, so the team had to carefully route the pipework and work through the pre-drilled opening without compromising the finished surface. A separate connection was also made through to the outside so the filtered water could feed the ice machine.

A lot of measuring, cutting, drilling, fitting and connecting goes into making the final result look this clean.

It's the kind of work where the small details matter.
