🐞 Ladybugs vs. Asian Lady Beetles (a.k.a. Ladybug Imposters!) 🐞

Hey neighbors! 👋 It’s that time of year again when we start seeing Asian Lady Beetles soaking up the sun on windows, siding, and sun-drenched walls—and sometimes in massive numbers. While they may look like sweet little ladybugs, these guys are definitely the imposters of the bunch.

Here’s the scoop:

Ladybugs = passive, beneficial, and just minding their business.

Asian Lady Beetles = not so sweet 😬 (and definitely no-touchy unless you want what feels like a pin-prick bite)

As shown in the photo, there are some clear physical differences, but behavior is also a real giveaway. Asian Lady Beetles love to sneak inside through tiny cracks and crevices, especially when populations explode—and yes, they can show up by the hundreds.

🚫 DIY Tip for our do-it-yourselfers:
Spraying these beetles directly usually just adds unnecessary chemicals to your environment and does little to fix the real issue. The key is:
✔ Sealing cracks and crevices
✔ Proper indoor crack & crevice treatment
✔ A thorough exterior perimeter treatment

🐶 Pet parents—please note:
If Asian Lady Beetles are ingested in large amounts or get stuck in a dog’s mouth, their defensive fluid can cause irritation or even make pets sick.

💛 A Little Gratitude Story From Our Office 💛

We received a call from a new customer the other day, and her gratitude honestly stopped us in our tracks. She said, “Thank you for answering the phone… I didn’t have to go through a recording or press a bunch of buttons just to talk to a real person.”

That simple comment became a big part of our weekly team meeting. We talked about how truly important it is—not just to provide great pest control—but to care for people. This time of year can be hard for so many… folks missing loved ones, facing illness, financial stress, or big changes at home. We reminded our team to give those customers a little extra TLC and maybe even bring a smile to their day.

As a small, family-owned company with 3 generations and 77 years under our belt, our customers are more than account numbers… you’re family to us. That’s the heart and soul of choosing local. When you call our office, we answer—unless both lines are busy helping someone else, and then we call you right back. Could we add a third line? Sure… but then you’d have to listen to the dreaded recording and press options just to reach us, and that’s not who we are.

We don’t have salespeople.
We don’t have layers of management.
We don’t have a call center.

We’re just a small team of regular folks who genuinely care—providing old-fashioned service, real conversations, and a smile on the other end of the phone.

Always, but especially during the holidays, our hearts are full of gratitude for each and every one of you. Thank you for trusting our family to take care of yours.
