Hi, I'm a local Locksmith, and I'm putting out a solution to counter the huge amount of break-ins that have been occurring on security screen doors. I've attached a photo of a product that I've developed to counter opportunistic attacks to the screen door locks. Remember, ALWAYS lock your door with a working key, as this stops any manipulation of the small silver snib on your screen door lock, however, if you do forget to lock the snib, the Crimshield will stop any lengths of wire in an attack to the snib and also enable quick egress for the elderly in a fire scenario.

Hi, I'm a local locksmith, and quite often around Cairns when I attend to properties, i'm finding that the occupants do not lock their screen door with a key, and instead rely on the small silver snib to lock the door. Please be aware, that crims are bypassing door shields on screen doors and unlocking the door by manipulating the silver lock snib open. This is easily fixed. Please always lock your screen door with a key, as this locks the small silver snib and cannot be manipulated open unless you unlock the screen door with a key. If you don't have a key for your screen door lock, then call a locksmith who will remove the old cylinder and replace it with a working key to make your door lockable and most importantly, stop the crims from getting past your screen door.
