Got a call-out to an elderly couple yesterday, no heating or hot water, I arrive on site and instantly realise Their Economy 7 meter, time switch has failed post power outage following last weekends storms. I advised them to contact their supplier SCOTTISH POWER, So the only option was a web chat, no 24 hour hotline. Nothing SCOTTISH POWER will attend to until January 06/25
I will not go into the details of my actions on here, except to say, they now have heating and hot water!
I will pursue the Ombudsman in the new year and attempt to get the couple compensation for the failingsof their supplier. Their home was absolutely freezing!!
I will not accept that in this century a customer that pays their supplier monthly without fail can be left to freeze and struggle without hot water!
The gentleman is 77, his wife is his carer, he’s registered with SCOTTISH POWER as vulnerable!
I seriously don’t think they’d have got to the 6/01/25
We won’t charge, we care about people!
