Good session at the allotment
Had the girls watering so I could focus on weeding and harvesting
Cleaning the veg in their beds turned out to be genius, don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner
Less mud in my kitchen sink and less water wasted too
Team wash in the bed, or team drag it all home first?

I’ve avoided strimmers for years — the constant stopping to feed the line through never appealed, and with MS I’m already managing enough without adding unnecessary strain.

So when .gardenpower sent me their 20V 2-in-1 Grass Trimmer & Edger, I was hopeful, but cautious.

Auto-feed line means no stopping. It’s powerful ! Very beginner friendly I used in small bursts for pacing as it’s got a bit of weight to it, nothing crazy though.

Used it at the allotment and at home as an edger. Still working on getting those lines perfectly straight, but the tool itself wonderful!

If pain, fatigue or energy management factor into how you garden, this one’s worth a look.

I share about MS to inform, not for pity 🧡

Well wishes are lovely, but with love this isn’t a pity party - just information. Important context for who I am and how I show up here for followers and brands I hope to gain and work with.

My content won’t look like other gardeners’. And my MS won’t look like anyone else’s MS either — that’s just the nature of the condition, no two experiences are quite the same.

I’ve made my peace with it. This page is just me being a bit more open about the parts of my life that shape how I garden, and why.

Thank you for being here, however you found your way to this corner of the internet 🌱

Late frost hit my potato plants but all is not lost! 🌱

The tubers underground are safe — frost rarely penetrates deep enough to damage them.

I’m leaving the damaged tips on for now. The plant is already stressed and needs every bit of green leaf to recover.

My plan:
🌿 Monitor — happy it’s still growing, photos from 7th May (last three) vs yesterday show progress
🌿 Comfrey feed — tomorrow’s job
🌿 Hope for the best! Life goes on ☺️

Not hilling up either — that was already my plan. Just need to be more mindful going forward.

Gardening isn’t always perfect. Sometimes you work with what you’ve got 🤷🏾🌱

This week I had an MRI and it wiped me out. I can’t lie.
I was already dealing with a flare up post surgery, so understandable. But MRIs never cease to amaze me in how exhausting they can be. There’s something about lying completely still that takes more out of you than you’d ever expect.
I didn’t talk about the narrowness or the claustrophobia in this video but if that’s something people want me to cover, I’m more than happy to. I know it’s a big deal for a lot of people and it deserves its own honest conversation.
I want to do more videos like this. Bear with me as I find my feet with because let’s be real, this is a gardening page. 🌿 And yes, whilst I was in that MRI machine, I was absolutely thinking about my garden. Right before I drifted off to sleep.

Wood chip. Pallet collars. Tree stumps that double as tables and seats. All free.
Local Facebook groups, Marketplace, Gumtree, Nextdoor — and a friendship with the tree surgeon down the road.
Gardening doesn’t have to cost a lot. I like a garden that’s full, that ages well, that feels natural. Constantly reusing, recycling, giving things a second life in the soil.

10 days. That’s all it took 👀🌱
My asparagus crowns went in on 25th April and they’re ALREADY showing ! I couldn’t believe it!
And it’s not just asparagus in there. I’ve got strawberries planted throughout the bed and raspberries along the sides this is companion planting again ☺️
✅ Asparagus deters the nematodes that attack strawberry roots
✅ Strawberries suppress weeds as living ground cover
✅ Every inch of space will be working hard!

I’ll be filling the gaps with some shallow rooted plants soon.
Are you growing asparagus this year? Have you given it any companions?

Potatoes in, garlic between every one — garlic’s in the allium family with chives and onions and bugs hate the smell. Two crops, built-in pest control, zero wasted space.
Next up: yam. Still figuring that one out. 🌱
