Eckard Commercial Construction, Inc. is seeking a dependable and experienced Construction Equipment Mechanic / Service Technician to join our team.
This position is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of construction equipment, vehicles, small engines, and related systems. We are looking for a hands-on mechanic who is comfortable troubleshooting problems, performing preventative maintenance, and completing repairs efficiently to keep our equipment operating safely and reliably.
🔧 Primary Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair small gas and diesel engines
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and wiring systems
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems and components
• Perform mechanical repairs on a variety of construction-related equipment
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including:
• Oil and filter changes
• Lubrication and fluid services
• Equipment inspections
• General preventative maintenance
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify necessary repairs
• Perform repairs efficiently and return equipment to service in a timely manner
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Assist with field repairs and equipment service as needed
🔧Qualifications
Required:
• Mechanical experience with gas and/or diesel-powered equipment
• Working knowledge of electrical wiring and electrical diagnostic procedures
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and hydraulic repair
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs with minimal supervision
• Ability to perform routine maintenance on a wide variety of construction equipment
• Current Arizona Driver License with a clean MVD record
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a construction team
Preferred:
• Heavy-duty diesel engine experience
• Construction equipment or heavy-equipment mechanic experience
• Experience working on multiple types and brands of construction equipment
• Field service and equipment troubleshooting experience
• Experience with compact equipment, generators, pumps, compressors, trucks, trailers, and simila construction equipment

We are looking for someone who can identify an issue, determine the appropriate repair, and get the equipment safely back into service without unnecessary downtime.
